How Innovative Is Your Organization?
No company can survive without innovation. Today, if you are not innovating you are in danger of falling behind, or worse, being blindsided by a new market entrant.
But how can you, as the leader, get your organization to think and act as an innovator in your industry segment? And do it before you’re trampled by a competitor?
Getting to innovation faster starts with an assessment of where your company is right now.
When you work with Polson & Associates, our innovation assessments provide the vital information and insights you need to address gaps in skill sets, processes, and technology. From there, you can build your innovation strategy and start to future-proof your organization.
Data-driven Insights
Climate is a key capability for innovation and growth in an organization. Polson & Associates uses the Situational Outlook Questionnaire® (SOQ) to assess your company’s working climate. SOQ is a two-part questionnaire that measures people’s perceptions of the climate for creativity, innovation, and change within their immediate work environment. The SOQ assesses nine dimensions using 53 questions and includes open-ended questions to provide more meaningful information on what is working, what is not, and what needs to be done to make the climate better.
In a workshop setting with your team, Mark Polson, a Qualified SOQ Practitioner, administers the survey and shares the data, comparing it to established benchmarks. He facilitates a conversation about how to leverage what you have and create the culture for creativity in your organization.
Insights to Drive Action
With the results of our innovation assessments, you as the leader can start to have informed conversations with your people about the organization and its innovative capabilities. This enables you to work with your people to set priorities and accountabilities and move forward.
Leverage your People’s Diverse Problem-solving Styles
Many people have been told, or do not believe, they are creative. In fact, all people problem-solve and are creative, but not in the same manner. Some individuals like working within existing paradigms, while others prefer to break paradigms and rules to solve problems.
It takes a wide range of styles to solve problems, especially complex ones. Our workshops enable your people to understand and unleash their own creativity and problem-solving style.
We use the Creative Style Indicator ® in our workshops to help your people understand their preferred style of problem solving. Based on results of this assessment, we facilitate a discussion about creativity and how to leverage your team members’ different styles of approaching problems. The more team members understand each other’s problem-solving styles, the more easily they can work together and the faster they can get to innovation.
